In which the water is icy

This morning (being yesterday morning) Nick and I set off for Snowdonia in Northern Wales. We had aimed to be there by 10:30am in order to climb Mt Snowdon before it got dark at 4:30pm. But owing to terrible traffic we did not arrive until 12pm. So after talking to the warden we set off up the mountian to as-high-as-we-could-reach-before-2pm. The path we climbed was called the Pey-y pass and is on the opposite side to the path the train goes up. The first part of the climb was steep and up some large stone steps. The path then became easier, still up hill but easier. We walked until 2pm stopping occasionally to take random pose photos.
We turned around where the upper Pen-y pass track met the lower miners track and decided to walk home along the miners track. At the bottom of the track was a large lake. I decided to go for a paddle and removed my shoes and socks in order to torment my feet with the icy water. I stayed in long enough for Nick to comment about how quickly it became very deep and to have my photo taken.
The track home took longer than the upper track but it was flat almost the whole way. We then had the long drive to Birmingham to our hotel (which is not very nice - except it has water flow and pressure in the shower unlike at Nick's house).
So far the day has been great. Just me and Nick catching up and telling stories of way back when.
