In which the UK adventure begins

Yesterday at 2:30ish I borded a Malaysian airlines plane to Kuala lumpur. I had a window seat but unfortunately it was directly over the wing so I could not see anything. Of the 4 movies I watched there was only 2 movies of note. The first being The boat that Rocked. I enjoyed this strange british movie and wished that I was watching it at home with a group of friends so I could laugh out loud at the all the funny bits. I landed in KL at around 1opm Adelaide time and had 3 hours to sit and do nothing. I did manage to find a seat next to the monorail track so I could watch the trains go past. We then boarded the plane at 12am KL (1:30am AT) we then had to sit in the plane for an hour because we had been given a particular time that we were able to fly over Afganistan and we had to wait for it. The flight was largely uneventful. I slept, watched old disney cartoons and when they took away our headphones I watched The Rock (a Sean Connery movie that I know off by heart).
When we arrived in London airspace we flew in circles because the runway was blocked and we couldnt land. Finally we were alowed to land on a different runway. This meant that I was at the wrong terminal and Nick and his Dad couldnt find me. Finally I was collected at 8am UK time.

We had a two hour drive from London to Bristol. On the way I saw lots of ponies in frost white fields and only a small handfull had rugs of. It shows how spoilt our horses are when they have their rugs on if it falls below 18 degrees.

I got back to Nicks place and had a shower before heading into Bristol itself with Nick and Jackie to drop Nick at work and have a wonder around. Jackie and I caught the bus home and were noticing that the pub signs were not very accurate. For example the Black Horse Inn had a picture of a chestnut, the Fire Engine had a picture of an old stone keep. The further out of Bristol the more accurate the signs became eg the Horse and Jockey had a pic of two racehorses with jockeys. Anyways it made for an interesting ride home. I am now relaxing / snoozing before we go out again this evening to a christmas street party thing.

Signing off from the sunny uk
