In which Tori discovers sheep love Bananas

This morning I went down to visit Wallace and Gromit. I took a banana with me to eat for breakfast but then threw the banana peel into their paddock expecting they would be interested in it for a bit but then leave it for the possums to collect later (as I think has been happening with the other treats I have taken down there). But no! They fought over the peel and then came up to me sniffing around for more.

After I had visited the ponies and fed all of Sandy's animals I went back to the sheep yard and took half a banana with me. I peeled it in thin strips throwing them to the sheep but closer and closer to me. By the end I had them eating banana peel from my hand and steeling pieces of banana. After they had eaten it all they came and sniffed me all over looking for more. I am now feeling more optimistic about taming my sheep. :) I have bought them collers but havnt managed to put them on yet. Wallace has a black coller with a red name tag and Gromit has a red coller with a black name tag. I think they are too big at the moment but they will grow into them.

Now for the pony news. I went to Julia's as discussed on Monday and we went for a ride on her horses. They were all a bit difficult as they hadnt been ridden for a while but we took three of them out for a trail ride (riding two and leading the third). When we got back we loaded Apples into the float and I headed off home. I got about two thirds of the way home before being turned around by the CFS and had to head back to the half way mark to try a different route home. So it ended up taking us an hour and a half to travel the 40minute trip. But we arrived home safely and Apples and Twistie went trotting happily around the paddock.
Haydee has decided that Apples is her pony (her My Little Pony) and has been plating her mane and tail and generally making Apples even more beautiful than she already is.

Yesterday we took Apples and Twistie down to the dam. I lead Twistie in and Haydee tried to get Apples to go but she wouldn't. We let Twistie off the lead so that we could both concentrate on Apples and Twistie came out of the dam, ate some grass, then went back in deeper on her own to splash and play in the water. She repeated this a few times and was in the water above the brands on her shoulders. She was having a great time. Apples still wouldnt go in.

Maybe Apples is becoming vain and hates the idea of getting her hair wet : )
