In which Tori sits her Antarctic Ecology exam

So number three is over and done with. The exam was a bit silly though I didnt have as much of a problem with it as Emma did. The issue being that questions were asked which were not covered in the unit. Such as a question on the Moratorium of whaling under the International Whaling Commission. And while we did discuss the IWC briefly it was only about how previous whaling conventions had failed and we never talked about the rules and regulations of the IWC or that Scientific whaling was permitted (which was the point of the question). This meant that I could answer the question as I have covered the IWC in first year Antarctic Studies and again in second year with Antarctic and Southern Ocean Policies. But Emma and others like her struggled because they didnt do those subjects. The other long answer question covered the geological history of Antarctica which was covered only briefly (about three slides of pictures of the continents moving apart from each other) and we were expected to write 30mins on it. The short answer questions were a bit better. There was one on phytoplankton, one on icefish, one on benthic communities and one on something else which I have currently forgoten.
After the exam Megan, Emma and I got together to complain about our lecturer and I also added that I got only 13/20 for an assignment where as Lysh got 17/20 even though she has all the mistakes I have since we used the same references and the same tables/graphs. Mine is covered in red pen with circles around it and hers has lots of ticks. We recon he must have got tired of reading them and just given away marks at the end. Its not very fair. But I should pass anyway so I suppose in the big scheme of things it doesnt really matter.
Only one exam left: Cell biology which is going to be difficult too I think. Wish me luck

Oh wait the IWC was a short answer and the other long answer question was about iron fertilisation which I learnt about in first, second, and in great detail last semester. But was not covered this semester as the Kermit ran out of time (as usual).

Hey, what were the four limiting factors for primary production: temp, light, nutrients, and ?

I'm not sure I got that one right.
