Puppies, Geese and Dreams
Last night at obedience classes, Pat got us to pair up with a puppy the same size as us for some socialising. When this happens Anya usually pairs with a german shepherd puppy called Ida as they are roughly the same size, have similar personalities and are the same age. Ida and Anya were happily playing together when Pat threw them three soft toys to play with. Both puppies imediatly started hording. Anya grabbed two at one time (cheating yes) and took them to a spot she decided would be her pile. Then left those to grab the left over one. As she grabbed that one Ida came in and took one already on Anya's pile. This game when on for quite a while. It was funny to watch the puppies playing at the old childeren's game "rob the nest".
On a similar theme my goose Lucy wasn't quite sitting on her nest properly yesterday afternoon and I caught a glimps of the eggs. Amongst the white goose eggs there was at least one brown chicken egg. So the chooks have been laying but Lucy has been pinching them to add them to her egg collection. We are starting to think that Lucy's eggs are not going to hatch. They were due earlier this week and so far nothing. We are going to leave her for another week then take the eggs away and move her and Xander to their new home in the sheep pen where they will have more room and wont pester the chooks.
My dream last night starred a strange collection of people. To start with I was at home and wondering around in the chook pen which had grown considerably. Lucy's eggs had hatched plus I also had a pair of mating ducks and their ducklings and Mum had bought me a young pig. Im not sure why the pig (who I named Wilbur) was in the chicken coop but thats the way dreams are. Next we were in assembly and the basketball team got called up to the stage to collect prizes in the team was Justin (friend from college who was mad about soccer). Then there was an anouncement that on the same night as a formal there would be a comedy show so anyone not going to the formal could go to that. I turned up at the comedy show to sit at a table with Frenchy (also from college). Julia (from pony club) was nervously awaiting her turn on stage, Anna (from primary school) was having trouble with her shoes at intermission having just got back from some away work with Meg and Jane (from work). I think there were some other people in there too. I love what interesting things dreams throw at you.
