Yay! The new car has finally arrived. I collected Pepe on Thursday as it convieniently rained and I got the day off work. (You cant spray chemicals in a gully in the rain). The people at the car shop were rather flustered because we had told them we would not be there to pick the car up until 5pm. They sorted themselves out and I drove away in my new car at around 3pm.
I was sad to give up The Beast but we had been having so many problems with it lately (the least of which was that it wouldnt start in the mornings which makes it hard as I have to be at work so early) that I didnt mind as much as I thought I would.
So far Pepe is running really well. I have driven him to work but I have to get 1000km on the clock before I am allowed to tow the horse float. So today I am taking him for a drive to Goolwa to visit my Grandpa.
Other more animally news. On Thursday Mum and I took Cleo (border collie dog) and Rocket (border collie cat) to the vet for their annual imunisations. Cleo was pronounced fat and has to go on a diet and poor Rocket has a heart murmur. This second piece of news was sad as he is only 2 years old and is the best cat (behaves more like a dog than a cat). He has to go back to have an ultrasound to see if his heart is treatable.
As always we seem to be living at the vet. I have to take Gretta there this morning to have a check over and order more tablets. Then George is going in on Tuesday to be desexed.
Work is going well. We are currently working at Golden Grove removing olives from a gully. It is a big job there are millions of olives and you have to cut down smaller trees or some branches off the larger ones and use the chainsaw to pocket into the trunk to pour chemicals in to kill them. You have about a ten second window to get the chemical on once you have made a cut. Then all the offcuts have to be dragged up the steep slopes to be piled neatly next to the track so we can get a chipper in to eat them all up. One this is for sure I am getting fit dragging logs up these steep slopes all day.
