In which life goes on

In the eternal quest for a job I have recently had two interviews and a trial day. The first interview was for a job in a garden shop. I would be serving at the counter, making displays and helping customers. I thought "Yes I can do that" while secretly hoping they would give me a more interesting job actually working with the plants out the back. They gave me a trial. It was horible. I actually had to speak to people. Most of you who read this blog will know that making small talk or talk of anykind with random people is not something I am particularly good at. I came home after the trial and when asked how the day went I replied "I suck at retail!" I did not wait to see if I had the job or not I simply turned it down. (I doubt I would have got it anyway).

The next day I had the long awaited interview with Landscape Construction Services. The job I interviewed for was as a team leader with their horticulture and nursery team. I would get to read landscape and architecture designs to lay out gardens for the planting team to put in. I would also be there to motivate the team and do some nursery work. They also mentioned that if I was not chosen for this job they would put me on the list for other jobs they had on offer including one with their revegetation team. They are supposed to be letting me know sometime this week if I got the job. I really hope I did or at least that I got an interview for the revege team. If not its back to square one.

On the animal side of life. I tried to take the horses to dressage on Saturday. But when I got up to them Twistie had injured her leg and could not be ridden. I took Otis in the afternoon and he was ok. He did as well as could be expected and came last in both his classes. At least I can always say that things can only get better from here. The opposite of that is Gretta who has taken a turn for the worst. She has been fussy with her food for a while now and yesterday she would not eat at all. She did eat some meat this morning but she is in a fair bit of pain and is not feeling well. I am hoping her new tablets kick in soon and she starts to feel better. Currently she is in her cave being "cave dog". Her inside cave is under the computer desk. She also has her outside cave which is under one of the chairs on the veranda.
