Last week my farrier offered me his horse Otis to lease until he finds enough free time to work him. So today Mum and I drove the float around to his place to pick Otis up. Otis is a 16hh Chestnut (orange) Thoroughbred gelding (casterated boy). He is lovely.
When we got home I put him in the paddock with Twist and Apples and Twistie went mental trying to get his attention but Otis just stood there then thought "Well I might eat some grass over here ... and ... I might just go and have a look at that tree over there..." And wasnt paying Twistie much attention at all.
Most of today has been windy and showers but I managed to find an hour to ride this afternoon. First of all I caught Twistie and tied her up. Then I caught Otis and tied him up. I put all his tack on and just walked and trotted him around near the top shed. He was quiet and only spooked once. I then put him back in the paddock and tacked Twistie up. She was fine until we got to the corner of the paddock (at the start of the driveway) then Otis and Apples came cantering down the fence line to catch up to her. She started being silly and neighing to them and trying to spin around so I got off and tried to take her for a walk instead. She was just stupid.
So right now I am thinking that Otis has to go back. But I have him on a three week trial so Ill hold onto him for a little longer to see if Twistie gets better or worse.

Hello Tori!! Sounds like Twistie hasnt changed much :)
Ps. I knew it was your birthday this week - I am sending you a card. Wish I could go to the party, though. Hope it turns out awesome.
