In which Wallace and Gromit have a visit from the vet

My poor sheepies. This morning I went down to the sheep yards to give Wally and Gromit their breakfast of lupins but only Gromit came to the gate to see me. When I got down to the yard I saw Wally standing in the middle of his paddock with white foam comming out his nose. I put the bucket of lupins in the paddock and Gromit had some but Wally wasnt interested. I went and got the parentals and Dad reconed they just had colds and not to worry too much, just call the vet and ask. I went down to visit them a little later and noticed that Gromit had a snotty nose too. I rang the vet and described the symptoms and they sent a vet around to see them this afternoon. They both have bad colds, fluid in their lungs and elevated temperatures (~40.1C). So they have to have penacilin injections for 5 days.

The other news is that a few weeks ago Dad bought some Pictus catfish for our tank. I didnt know anything about them and they were the best looking ones in the shop. When we got them home dad did some research and found that they dont do well in community aquariums. So after consuming 9 out of 10 of our Rummy nose and 1 of our phantom glass catfish we traded them in at the petshop for two docile bristlenose catfish. Which was what we had set out to buy in the first place. And the job they have done in three days is amazing. They feed primarily on the algae in the tank and it is possitivly sparkling again. I hadnt realised how dirty it was getting. All the fish seem happier now they are not fearing being eaten overnight but the pictus. However our lone Rummynose is in need of some friends.

Tell your dad that once the bristlenose have grown up they'll look way cooler than any pictus. Pictus look nice, but that's about the only thing that's good about them. They're also annoying when you have to catch them coz they get stuck in the net. Also, if your bristlesnoses are running out of food you can feed them blanched lettuce leaves. I haven't tried it myself, but both my fishbooks say to.
