I went to try out a new horse. Her name is Pebbles and she is a 7 year old, 15.3hh, bay Thoroughbred mare. She has been living at the Kersbrook Equestrian Centre for a little while and Nicki has been sending out emails saying she is for sale. I didn't really take any notice as I wasn't looking for a new horse but then I also saw an ad for her in HorseDeals and became interested. Although I already have three equines; only Twistie is rideable, as Apples is too small and Otis is unlikely to recover from his stifle injury. It is much more enjoyable going to competitions with 2 horses as you can do twice as much for the same distance travelled.
Anyway back to today.
The parentals and I went to the Equestrian centre so I could ride Pebbles. First I lunged her, then Nicki rode her and then it was my turn. When I first started walking around I wasn't too impressed. Her walk on the right rein was terrible. But once we got moving at faster paces and jumping she was awesome. She has a really springy little trot, a smooth uphill canter, and cleared the jumps with very little effort (true they were tiny today but still).

So now I am taking her on a ride out on Tuesday morning and then she has to pass a vet check. But maybe after all that she can be mine.

So is Pebbles yours now, or not?
We are still sorting things out. I want to take her on an outing this weekend and then the vet check should be on Monday and then hopefully this painful process can be finallised. I thought it would be all fun and exciting getting a new horse but it has been more stressful than anything.
She's such a nice colour... for a bay, anyway :-P
