Last weekend my best friend Ingrid got married.
I flew down to Hobart on Thursday afternoon and was collected at the airport by Ted. He took me back to Jane where I bummed around for a while, ate Jane tea, and was picked up by Chris. Chris drove me out to cubs where we went on a tour of the post office sorting center and learned what happens to letters after you post them. In short they have this big machine which turns the letters up the correct way and then reads the address, sprays a barcode on them and puts them in the correct pile to be taken out by your local friendly postie. However since people do not write on the mail correctly or use envelopes of strange sizes or cover the letters in thin plastic about half of the mail daily is sorted by hand.
Chris then dropped me back at Jane where I bummed around for a while before Ingrid came to pick me up. I spent Thursday night at her place and the early part of Friday writing out place cards for the tables at the wedding. Then I got a lift into town to meet Emma for lunch and icecream at Mures. Shaun then picked me up and we went to collect Ingrid's dress before driving out to Richmond for the wedding rehursal. After the rehursal we had to go back to Sandy bay to collect the cake which wasnt ready before and then back to Richmond for dinner. We stayed at Richmond that night so that we could be up early to get ready for the wedding.
The wedding was great. Under orders from Ingrid I was presented wearing a green dress, with long fingernails, make-up and my hair piled on my head. We rode to the wedding in a horse and cart. Ingrid and Shaun got married then we all got sunburnt while having our photos taken at the Richmond bridge. Lunch was tasty and the cake was supurb (chocolate mud cake with thick white icing).
I left Tassie on Sunday afternoon in order to be back at TAFE on Monday morning. It was great to have been able to catch up with all my friends and I hope to be able to visit again soon.
Back here in Kersbrook not much has changed. Madison and I are getting along better. We have established that he needs to be entertained (where as Charlie was content with playing with his toys in his cage when he wasnt out with me). Madison likes to cook as he will sit quietly on my shoulder as I am cooking but if I just sit down or stand around somewhere he gets bored and goes off to find something to climb.
Ok have to go

I'd love to see some photos of you in your green dress with your long finger nails and makeup and your hair piled up on top of your head :)
