In which Tori decides that packing cherries is just as boring as scrubbing brick walls

I worked at the cherry farm down the road for two days and was so bored. We started work at 8am on the first day and 7am on the second. Our days consisted of watching cherries go along a conveyor belt and leaving the best ones on the belt, putting the really crappy ones into the bin, and transfering the in between ones onto a seconds belt. The other job was to stand down the end of the conveyor belt and bag up the good cherries (mark the bag with a green or blue tag) and bag up the seconds with a red tag. So bored.

Anyways yesterday was Christmas. I was up early (5:30am) because I could hear Gretta and Meg barking. I got up to see what it was and found Twistie snorting madly in the paddock. She was petrified of something. Mum had also woken up and we went for a walk in the direction Twistie was looking. Twistie decided to follow us up the hill, then took over the lead, then got scared and ran around behind us again. Anyways all we found at the top of the hill was one calf which ran off to find the rest of the herd when it spotted us. Mum and I wandered around the paddock until we found all four cows and then went back to Twistie. I tried to take her for a walk - leading her down to the dam - but she would not settle and kept trying to push me over so I left her alone and went back inside to unwrap pressies.

I got lots of puzzles, some clothes, a bag, some framed photos, and a mango. But I reckon my favourite thing is a painted model horse. I had seen them in the shops before. They are the shape of a horse but they can be painted with anything. The one I had seen that I had really liked was painted with an arctic scene with polar bears and walruses. However the one I received was even more special. It is white with glitter all over it and it also has candy canes and peppermints painted all over it so it looks all christmassy. And when I turned it over its name was Peppermint Twist. :) All in all it was a good day

Peppermint Twist also the name of a dance and a delicious Scottish pudding of indeterminate origin...
